WWII’s USS Indianapolis Tribute with Survivor George Horvath: 6:30 p.m. Nov. 8, Auburn Ave Theater, 10 Auburn Ave. Horvath, a resident of Phoenix, Ariz., and one of the few remaining survivors from the USS Indianapolis will share his memories of the U.S. Navy disaster at sea. Providing historical context is Kim Roller, whose vintage WWII-era dress sets the stage for her multimedia presentation. Auburn’s 47th Veteran’s  Day  Observation, Remembrance  Ceremony:  9:45 a.m. Nov. 10, Veterans  Memorial  Park,  411  E  St.  NE.  Dedication of Blue  Star  Memorial  Marker,  in  part  funded  by  the  Auburn  Garden  Club,  will   be  dedicated.  Activities include lighting of Memorial Flame. Ceremony  runs  prior  to  the  Veterans  Day  Parade.  The  Auburn  Garden  Club  will  be  serving  coffee  and  cookies  immediately  following  the  ceremony.

47th Veterans Day Parade: 11 a.m. Nov. 10, Main St., Auburn. One of the largest Veterans Day parades in the country. The parade pays special tribute to the American Veterans (AMVETS). The parade boasts almost 200 units and more than 5,500 parade participants, including more than 25 marching bands, military vehicles, veterans’ units, honor guards and more. 26th Veterans Day Marching Band Competition: 1-10 p.m. Nov. 10, Auburn Memorial Stadium, Troy Field, 800 4th St. NE. Hosted by the Auburn High School Band and Choir Parents. More than 30 of the finest high school marching bands from Washington, Oregon and Idaho compete in parade and field show competition. Tickets for all-day admission: $15 adults; $10 students (ages 6-18); $10 seniors (62 and older); $10 military with active ID; $15 college students. A Victorian Country Christmas: Nov. 28-Dec. 2, Western Washington Fairgrounds and Exhibition Center, 110 Ninth Ave. SW, Puyallup. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday-Saturday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday. More than 550 shops, holiday entertainment, cuisine and wine at the 26th annual event. Santa Parade and Tree Lighting: 4:30 p.m. Dec. 1, Main Street, Auburn. A festive and fun children’s parade, which is followed by community caroling and the lighting of the City Hall Christmas Tree. Parade lineup begins at 4 p.m. on E Street NE. Pre-parade entertainment from 4-4:30 p.m. in front of City Hall.
