Auburn twin brothers Mason and Landon Evans recently orchestrated and completed their community projects, one of the final steps in their pursuit of the Boy Scouts’ coveted Eagle rank.

Mason held a book drive for Valley Cities Landing (Homeless Resource Centers), collecting 1,500 books for adults, teens and children.

Meanwhile, Landon (pictured below) joined other scouts and volunteers to beautify the Mt. Baker Middle School courtyard. The crew removed 15 stumps and planted trees and shrubs that were donated.

The boys, who have been in scouting since they were 8, represent Boy Scout Troop 323. The Scoutmaster is Mark Casey.

The 14-year-old boys, eighth-graders at Mt. Baker, are the sons of Stephanie and Zeke Evans.
