Color me surprised when I moved into a rental house and had to pay a “set up” fee to take over the water/sewer/garbage bill.

Color me angry when I moved out 14 months later and got hit yet again with a whopping $30 tacked on to my water bill from the City of Auburn to read the meter and close the bill. The clerk told me that does not even cover the cost to have someone come out to do it. In addition, she told me your City Council approved those fees.

Why stick it to home renters? Don’t be late with your water bill or they will stick you with a $15 fee.

I think it is time for a change in Auburn.
