Police blotter | Oct. 2

Auburn police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between Sept. 27 and Sept. 29:

Sept. 27

Burglary: 10:20 a.m., 10526 Auburn Black Diamond Road SE. Somebody burglarized Continental Dirt Contractors between Sept. 25-27. The suspects cut the hinge to the front gate with bolt cutters and stole a white 1990 International service truck.

Stealing in a church: 8:50 p.m., 3525 Auburn Way S. An unknown suspect made off with the purse of a congregant at Northwest Family Church.

Ring theft: 12:50 p.m., 2236 Auburn Way N. A business reported the theft of a ring. An unknown man had asked to see the ring and then fled from the store with it in his possession.

Sept. 28

Burglary: Overnight, 502 15th St. NE. A person or several persons burglarized the Golden China Buffet, swiping $200 in cash and coins and taking the cash register itself.

Theft of bicycle: 1:44 p.m., 3000 block of K Street Northeast. Somebody swiped a bicycle from a car port. Police did not disclose a value.

Trespassing: 8 a.m., 800 block of 4th Street Northeast. Police are charging a former Auburn High School student with trespassing after the school security officer spotted him on campus. Police later arrested him and booked him on a felony warrant.

Theft: Overnight, 3200 Emerald Downs Drive. Somebody stole a golf cart from Emerald Downs. Police did not disclose a value.

Theft of cheesey snack: 12:15 p.m., 1007 Auburn Way S. A youth stole two packs of Cheetos from the Farmers Market then gave police a bogus name, netting himself an arrest for shoplifting and obstruction.

Cops helping cops: 119th Place Southeast. A woman reported that a young neighbor threatened to stab her young son and that this same neighbor boy tried to set fire to playground equipment with a lighter.

Theft of coin machine: 4 p.m., 2021 F St. SE. Sometime between Sept. 26-28, somebody pried open the coin box on a coin-operated commercial clothes dryer in a laundry room and stole an unknown amount of coins.

Theft: 6:27 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way SW. Police arrested a female store employee at the SuperMall along with a female friend for an internal theft. Loss prevention officers saw her charging this friend for a few items but bagging numerous other unpurchased items, which the friend then carted out of the store.

Obstructing police: 12:40 a.m., 115 E. Main St. Police arrested three persons for fisticuffs at the Homeplate Tavern and lying to police about it when officers caught up with them later at a nearby apartment.

Sept. 29

Arson: 12:19 a.m., 4010 A St. SE. Police arrested three youths for setting fire to several Dumpsters behind the south end Albertsons grocery store.
