Each week I read the Auburn Reporter and have become more disappointed with one specific aspect of it. The disrespect toward our police department in the police blotter section is shameful.

It seems the writer is very concerned about specificity. It is obvious to me the writer would rather our have our police officers sitting at a desk somewhere writing detailed reports instead of having them out on the streets helping the people of our community.

I, for one, would like to thank the Auburn Police Department spending more time on the streets and less time on frivolous paperwork. We have a terrific police department with officers who care about this community.

The Auburn Reporter should stop being critical of them and start sharing stories of all the good they are doing within our community. I would love to read about that each week.
