The City of Auburn has received a grant of $144,260 from the Washington State Emergency Management Division through the federal Department of Homeland Security’s Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) Program, administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The grant is awarded annually to assist State and local governments in enhancing and sustaining all-hazards emergency management capabilities.

EMPG funds will be used by the City of Auburn Emergency Management program to continue its successful Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) disaster training program and to equip a new Emergency Operations Center.
