Poetry at The Station Bistro presents the works of Philip Red Eagle and Cindy Hutchings on Monday, June 3.

The program is from 7-9 p.m. at the Bistro, 110 Second St. SW, No. 125, one block south of West Main Street, on the east side of the Auburn Transit Center.

Coffee and conversation follow readings. It is an open mic opportunity. The public is invited.

About the poets

• Red Eagle is a born and raised Northwest writer, artist, metal smith and carver. He is the author of “Red Earth: A Vietnam Warrior’s Journey”, styled in mythical realism and now in its second edition (saltpublishing.com). He is also the originator and a cofounder of The Raven Chronicles: A Journal of Art, Literature & The Spoken Word (1991-Present), currently based in Seattle. Philip is an “occasional poet” who, these days, spends most of his time working with Tribal Journeys, a cultural movement using the canoe as a vessel for cultural renewal.

• Hutchings is a member of Striped Water Poets and Northwest Renaissance Poets. She graduated from Green River Community College and the University of Washington, with a double major in English and women studies. She was initiated as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society in 2002.

She has written more than 700 poems themed on women’s issues, current events, nature and animals, trauma and healing, and spiritual mysteries. She is working on manuscripts. Her poetry has been published in Espial 2012, The New Times, and the Auburn Reporter. She has performed poetry reading and had poetry exhibited at Uniquely Auburn.
