The SuperMall recently presented a $10,000 check to Auburn’s Valley Christian School for capturing the Earning for Learning title, the school’s second straight grand prize win.
The partnership program, which is designed to promote education in local school districts, encourages families and friends to shop at the SuperMall over an eight-week promotional period to earn “points,” and ultimately cash prizes for the school of their choice.
The SuperMall’s fourth annual Earning for Learning program awarded cash prizes totaling $20,000 to five area schools. A total of 246 schools participated this season, earning nearly 1,000,000 points. Lea Hill Elementary was second, receiving a $5,000 check from the SuperMall.
“Earning for Learning reinforces SuperMall’s continued commitment to our community, schools and to the city of Auburn. We are excited to provide area schools with the monetary means to support their individual needs,” said Greg Fleser, SuperMall general manager.
Principal Gloria Butz said the money will go toward programs and supplies at the school, which has an enrollment of 155 students, preschool through the eighth grade.
Valley Christian School is a ministry of the Auburn Free Methodist Church.
