The Valley Regional Fire Service responded to 164 calls for service between March 15 and March 21, among them the following:
March 15
Patient assist: 5:50 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters were asked to help a woman after she slouched into her wheelchair and couldn’t get back into a normal position because of a medical condition. Firefighters helped the woman back to an upright position, and that’s all the help she needed.
March 16
Aid call: 1:04 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters helped Auburn police handle a woman who was trying to harm herself. After police restrained the woman, firefighters examined her and arranged for her transportation to Auburn Regional Medical Center (ARMC) for psychiatric evaluations.
March 17
CPR: 10:23 p.m., (Auburn. Firefighters and King County Medics helped a woman after a friend found her unconscious and unresponsive. After undertaking aggressive basic and advanced life support measures, King County Medic One transported the woman to Auburn Regional Medical Center.
March 18
Aid call: 11:12 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responding to a single-car rollover accident on northbound Highway 167 found a pickup and trailer that had rolled over several times before coming to rest on its wheels 100 feet down the embankment. The driver was not hurt, and firefighters turned the scene over to the Washington State Patrol.
March 19
Fire: 8:50 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responding to the 200 block of Sunset Drive for reports of a fire in a playground found a large plastic slide on fire, which fire they quickly snuffed. Firefighters called in the South King Fire Investigation Task Force to investigate.
March 20
Motorcycle accident: 11:17 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters helped a motorcyclist who had been involved in an accident in the 1700 block of Auburn Way South. According to witnesses, the rider failed to negotiate a turn, tipped over and slid several feet before coming to rest next to his new motorcycle. Firefighters and paramedics evaluated the guy before a private ambulance carried him off to ARMC.
March 21
Aid call: 6:15 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters and King County Medics responded to a little girl who had fallen from a third-story window. Paramedics and firefighters administered aid, stabilized the girl, and Medic 6 transported her to Harborview Medical Center.
