Rep. Drew Stokesbary, R-Auburn, welcomed the new Gordon Family YMCA to Sumner at a grand opening Monday.

The Sumner Y received $2 million in grant funding in the 2015-17 capital budget to complete the project.

“The Gordon Family YMCA will be a tremendous asset for our community,” Stokesbary said. “I am proud to have supported and fought for this project in this year’s capital budget, and am thankful for all the organizations and individuals whose contributions helped make it a reality.

“The YMCA provides a wide range of services that make communities stronger, healthier and more vibrant, and I look forward to partnering with them to achieve these goals.”
