As pointed out by John Olson, “At the main Auburn Post Office while exiting, there is a no left turn sign which many people ignore” (letter to the editor, July 16). Gee whiz John, we do that mainly because we need to go to the left. I have never seen anyone held up or inconvenienced by doing this. But even if they were, being held up, inconvenienced and frustrated is called traffic.
Forcing motorists to drive in circles to make life easier for the easily upset is foolish, wasteful and dangerous. Rather than advocating punishing people for using Auburn’s roads, why not be smart and allow people to drive where they need to go? Rather than curbs or pylons, let’s paint a left-turn lane.
