Regional sport stacking showdown set for Auburn on Saturday

Hundreds of competitors will converge at Auburn High School on Saturday for the WSSA Northwest Regional Sport Stacking Championships presented by Wonderful® Pistachios.

Hundreds of competitors will converge at Auburn High School on Saturday for the WSSA Northwest Regional Sport Stacking Championships presented by Wonderful® Pistachios.

The doors will open at 8:30 a.m. and the competition begins at 9 in the school gymnasium, 800 4th St. NE. The awards ceremony is set for 5 p.m.

Events include individual timed competition, doubles and four-person team relays in a variety of divisions, which include all ages. Stackers will compete in the 3-3-3, 3-6-3 and cycle stacks. Age divisions include opportunities for older siblings, parents and grandparents, including collegiate (19-24), masters (25-59) and seniors (60 and above). There also will be a division for competitors with special needs.

Spectator general admission is $5 for adults, $2 for seniors and kids (ages 5-17), children under 5 are free. Admission is free to all competitors and volunteers.

Competitor registration fee is $15 (special stackers $10). An additional $10 late fee will be charged for registrations received after Feb. 25. Only individual timed competition stackers may register on the day of the event. No team registrations will be taken on the day of the event.
