The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 215 calls for service between Aug. 4 and 10, among them the following:

Aug. 4

Aid call: 10:30 a.m., (Pacific). A woman was suffering from minor, post-surgery bleeding when firefighters arrived at her home to evaluate her. Ultimately, firefighters decided to leave her at home.

Aug. 5

Car fire: 9 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters hustling to a car fire in the parking lot of a local business found flames in its engine compartment. The crew quickly extinguished the fire, saving the passenger compartment.

Aug. 6

Aid call: 6:31 p.m., (Algona). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to help a female suffering from nausea and chest pain, King County Medics evaluated her, and a private ambulance transported her to a local hospital.

Aug. 7

Apartment fire: 4:52 a.m., (Auburn). The Valley Regional Fire Authority and Kent Fire Department RFA responding to a report of an upper deck on fire and a trapped person discovered that a neighbor had used a garden hose to drown the fire and the trapped person had escaped. Firefighters checked the attic above the deck for any fire extension and ensured the fire on the deck was out. Nobody was hurt. Fire investigators were on‐scene trying to figure out what happened.

Aug. 8

Aid call: 11:40 a.m., (Lakeland Hills). A woman was suffering severe back pain when firefighters arrived to help her. Later, a private ambulance motored her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center.

Aug. 9

Service call: 8:21 a.m., (Lea Hill). While firefighters were investigating a column of smoke along the Green River, the column cleared.

Aug. 10

Accident: 7 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters sped to a car that had hit a fence and knocked down wires. When firefighters got there and determined that the driver was not hurt and that the wires were not power lines, they turned the scene over to Auburn Police.
