The Auburn Mountainview boys and girls track and field teams defeated crosstown rivals Auburn, Thursday at Auburn Memorial Stadium.

The Lion boys outdistanced the Trojans, 92-40.

Auburn Mountainview sophomore Gavin Robertson keyed the victory with first-place finishes in the long jump (19 feet, 1.25 inches) and triple jump (39, 9.75).

Also finishing first for the Lions were: junior Keegan Provo, pole vault, 13 feet; junior Jason Sele, javelin, 129-3; junior Trevor Jensen, shot put, 46-4.5; junior Jake Weathers, 110-meter hurdles, 16.83 seconds; and senior Ray Hardaway, 200, 23.88.

For the Auburn boys, he 400 relay team of Treyvaughn James, Masai Matthews, Nathaniel Van and Avery Wade won in 47.14.

The Trojans’ 1,600 relay team of Tyler Perrin, Michael Heinze, Tyler Snow and Van won with a time of 6:46.61.

Individually, Perrin took the 800 (2:09.50) and 1,600 (4:58.70).

Also snagging first-place finished for Auburn were: James, 100,11.95; senior Adam Stafford, 3,200, 11:22.82; Junior Ryan Topdijian, discus, 122-0; and junior Avery Wade, high jump, 6-2.

In the girls competition, the Lions prevailed, 104-35.

The Lions’ 400 relay team, with Molly House, Noami Maya-Mendoza, Nicole Carter and Maddie Taylor, won with a time of 52.08.

Auburn Mountainview’s 800-meter relay team also finished first with Jocelyn Lacey-Wood, Taylor, Maya-Mendoza and Carter finishing in 1:54.71.

Sophomore Rachel Grieve was first in the shot put (32-6.5) and javelin (114-9).

Senior Vikotoriya Vasina also earned first-place finishes in the triple jump (35-1.5) and long jump (16-0.75).

Sophomore Chloe Wagner was first in the 100 with a 13.75 and Maya-Mendoza was first in the 200 with a 28.21 time.

In the distance events, freshman Cassidy McCandless captured the 800 with a 2:55.40 and senior Allison Hammer crossed the line first in the 1,600 (6:00.05) and the 3,200 (13:06.15).

House claimed the 300 intermediate hurdles in 52.80, and junior Heaven Palaita captured the discus with a throw of 92-6.

For Auburn, sophomore Maria Banning won the 100 hurdles (18.8) and senior Tanner Crook took the 400 (1:10.90).
