For the 28th consecutive year, the Auburn School District bus fleet received a rating of exemplary in the annual Washington State Patrol inspection of all 117 school buses.
The Washington State Patrol conducts an annual surprise inspection to assure school buses are in proper working and properly maintained for the safety of students.
The inspection includes inside checks for fire extinguisher; First-Aid kit; body fluid kit; lights; seats; emergency exits and roof hatches. The outside inspection checks lights; body condition and decals; and the engine compartment. The brakes, suspension, steering, hydraulic systems, hoses, frames, drivetrain components and the air system for brakes also are inspected.
“This is a result of the great teamwork displayed by drivers, transportation assistants, mechanics and the entire transportation staff,” said Dennis Grad, executive direction of transportation.
