Lions bounced from state baseball playoffs

The Auburn Mountainview baseball team’s dreams of state were dashed this past Saturday in Centralia by a first-round, 3-1 loss to Bishop Blanchet at the Washington State 3A championship baseball tourney.

The Lions, 19-8 overall, came into the game as the No. 7 seed out of the West Central District.

Blanchet jumped out to a quick, first-inning lead, roughing up Auburn Mountainview starter Cody Hebner for three runs in the frame. Hebner finished the game with seven strikeouts and two walks, giving up five hits and three earned runs in four innings of work. Hebner also contributed with 3-of-2 hitting from the dish.
