The Valley Regional Fire Authority received 222 requests for services between May 19 and 25, among which were the following:

May 19

Gas leak: 8:56 a.m., (Algona). After a forklift severed a gas line to an overhead heater in a warehouse, firefighters arrived to secure the gas supply to the heater, and then let employees back into the building.

May 20

Aid call: 2:46 p.m., (Lea Hill). After firefighters evaluated a woman who’d suffered a seizure and determined that she would need additional medical evaluation, a private ambulance drove her to St. Francis Medical Center.

May 21

Aid call: 8:30 a.m., (Pacific). After firefighters evaluated a man who was suffering abdominal pain, they left him at home with his caregiver.

May 22

Aid call: 12:57 p.m., (Auburn). After firefighters evaluated a woman in labor and realized that childbirth was not actually imminent, a private ambulance transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

May 23

Car fire: 2:40 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a passenger vehicle fire just west of West Valley Highway on Peasley Canyon Road found an older model Ford pickup with light smoke curling out of the engine compartment. Turns out the owner had snuffed a small fire in the engine compartment before the firefighters got there.

May 24

Aid call: 6:45 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters assessed an Auburn senior who’d been complaining of hip pain after a fall, and a private ambulance motored her to Valley Medical Center for more treatment.

May 25

Aid call: 4:35 a.m., (Algona). Firefighters evaluated an Auburn woman suffering from shortness of breath, and King County Medics transported her to MAMC.
