Watson to give free artwork demonstration at the Auburn Library

Teacher, scholar and wood carver Greg Watson will be holding a free art demonstration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 19 at the Auburn Library, 1102 Auburn Way South.

Teacher, scholar and wood carver Greg Watson will be holding a free art demonstration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 19 at the Auburn Library, 1102 Auburn Way South.

Watson, Auburn Arts Co-op and Salish artist and instructor, will demonstrate traditional carving techniques using the adze and crooked knife. Watson also will talk about the renaissance of Salish art, and how it defines the First Nations of the Puget Sound region.

Timeless in their beauty, Salish carvings retain their allure and continue to inspire awe and wonder today.
