The third annual Art Walk returns Friday, May 10 to downtown Auburn. The event – featuring quality local artists, fine wines and businesses – runs from 5 to 9 p.m.
More than 25 artists will display and sell their works in the Main Street businesses serving as temporary galleries.
“We’ve shortened the event to focus on an evening art and wine walk,” said Laura Westergard, executive director of the Auburn Downtown Association and Art Walk co-chair. “By shortening the event … this year will be a not-to-miss experience with great art, fine wine, and performances and entertainment throughout.”
Original handmade quality paintings, mosaics and wearable art will be on display and for sale at downtown businesses.
Participating artists include Michael Shimkus, Richard Jahn, Victor Fuentes, Cory White, Joanne Iwasaki, Lydia Sutton, J.M. King, Judy Matthews, Christine Stoll, Lee Schlosser, Dennis Harrison, Henry James, Zachary Tanner, Wendy Ray, Val Smith, Angie Winburn, Donovon Preiser, Mary Ellen Bowers, Connie Reinecke, Sandy Bisordi, Amanda DeSilver, Tom Weston, Greg Bartol, Di Faria, Jackie Vlasak, Lucy Schwartz, and Michael Taskey.
Wine tastings are coordinated by the Auburn Wine and Caviar, and will include Wind River Winery, Fivash Cellars, Lost River, Icicle Ridge, Madsen Family Winery, Stina’s Cellar, Stottle, Rainier View, Bartholomew Winery, and Devorah Creek Winery.
On Friday, a walking map and wine tasting tickets (five tastes for $20 and includes a wine glass) will be available at the Art Walk information booth located in the Sound Transit Plaza as well as the Auburn Downtown Association office, 222 E. Main St.
The Auburn Art Walk is coordinated by a volunteer board and supported by the Auburn Downtown Association, Auburn Valley Creative Arts, Auburn-Area Chamber of Commerce, 4Culture and City of Auburn.
