Lopez, Sumner receive business awards | School briefs

Auburn School District accounting technician Rico Lopez and Auburn High School fiscal accountant Debbie Sumner received the Certified School Business Specialist – Accounting Designation award from the Washington Association of School Business Officials (WASBO).

Auburn School District accounting technician Rico Lopez and Auburn High School fiscal accountant Debbie Sumner received the Certified School Business Specialist – Accounting Designation award from the Washington Association of School Business Officials (WASBO).

The award is one of the highest standards of professional ethics and competence for school business staff.

“The WASBO commitment to high standards of education, experience combined with ethics and performance provides tremendous opportunities for professional development and growth,” said Nancy Moffatt, WASBO executive director. “Rico and Debbie are to be congratulated for achieving the CSBS – it puts them in a very elite group with their peers.”

Sumner has worked in the Auburn School District for 14 years and Lopez for 18 months.
