For the Reporter

Mt. Baker Middle School’s End Zone Academy is raising money to support children in need.

The club presents Celebrate Change, a fundraising dinner, auction and concert on Nov. 7, from 6 to 10 p.m., at the Green River Community College’s Lindbloom Center, 12401 SE 320th St, Auburn.

Proceeds from a silent auction support the club’s Free the Children project to build a one-room school house in Haiti. Proceeds from a dessert auction support students going to the Dominican Republic for a Dare to Dream service trip June 20-27.

Jen Hopper and the Angel Band Project will perform a concert.

Tickets are $30 adults, $10 children (under 18).

Susan Winter, a teacher at Mt. Baker Middle School, is the club advisor of the End Zone Academy, an ASB school club that empowers socially responsible young global citizens.

Here’s what the students do:

• Support Free the Children and its various campaigns to make the world a better place

• Raise money to build schools in third world countries

• Fundraise/volunteer at the Auburn Valley Humane Society

• Serve meals at the First United Methodist Church in Auburn supporting the Auburn Food Bank

• Visit Terry Home residents with traumatic brain injuries in Pacific and take them on field trips

• Travel on life-changing service trips during the summer
