• Ace Hardware has returned to Auburn. The new Ace/Agrishop store officially opened its doors Nov. 28 at 308 W. Main St.
The store has been designed to reflect the needs of the Auburn community, including solutions to everyday home improvement needs, as well as provide a wide variety of paint, lawn and garden products.
“Our mission is to provide customers with convenience, combined with superior service through one-on-one expert advice and assistance,” said Darren Jones, of Ace/Agrishop. “We look forward to becoming a helpful and valuable neighbor to the community, both inside and outside the walls of our store.”
• King County Executive Ron Sims and King County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer will head a roundtable discussion with the public on Jan. 14.
The meeting, originally set for today, was rescheduled to accommodate a late change to Sims’ itinerary.
The meeting will remain at 8 a.m. at the Auburn Valley YMCA, 1620 Perimeter Road SW.

• The Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce will present its business showcase holiday bazaar next Monday in the fourth-floor Emerald Room at Emerald Downs, 2300 Emerald Downs Drive.
The free event is open to the public.
Unique gifts and special order personalized Christmas items will be available from 1-3 p.m. Several local businesses will provide samples and have order forms handy.

• Senior Services’ Transportation Program provides an essential service to seniors in the Auburn area by arranging transportation to medical appointments. The program urgently needs more volunteer drivers.
Volunteers can use their own vehicles and choose the days, times and areas in which to drive.
