Auburn School District to host free summer lunches for children

The Auburn School District will offer free lunches to children ages 1 through 18 from June 28-Aug. 27, Monday to Friday at various sites throughout Auburn, Algona and Pacific.

The Auburn School District will offer free lunches to children ages 1 through 18 from June 28-Aug. 27, Monday to Friday at various sites throughout Auburn, Algona and Pacific.

Last summer more than 75,000 meals were served.

The program also is available to youth-related groups such as sports teams, daycares and youth camps.

The meals are free and no registration is required.

A variety of hot and cold lunches will be offered daily and include entrée, cold milk, and fresh fruits and vegetables.

All children are invited to participate at any site.

The summer food program will also be delivering lunches to apartment complexes throughout the city.
