Auburn skateboarders ready for Battle of the Bowl III

The Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation is gearing up for the Battle of the Bowl III, to be held at Brannan Park next Saturday, June 20. Competition is open to all skateboarders between the ages of 10 and 19. Helmets are required.

The third annual event, held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., features skate competition at three levels: beginner (ages 10 and under); intermediate (ages 11-14); advanced (ages 15-19). Area skate vendors will present their wares, including boards, trucks, wheels and clothing.

Entertainment includes Enumclaw’s own band, Subrocket. The Auburn Youth Council will provide hotdogs and refreshments as a fundraiser for middle and high school activities in Auburn.

The schedule for the day’s events is: 9 a.m., registration and check-in; 11 a.m., warm up; noon-2 p.m., competition

Registration is $5 before the event or $10 on site day of event. Battle of the Bowl III is presented the City of Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation.
