Auburn stays alive, reaches 4A quarterfinals

No. 3 Auburn came from behind to defeat Marysville-Pilchuk, 25-22, last Friday at Auburn Memorial Stadium to advance to the state 4A quarterfinals.

Auburn (11-0) advances to play Skyview (9-2) at Kiggens Bowl in Vancouver at 7:30 p.m. this Friday. Skyview advanced with a 40-21 victory over Bethel last weekend.

The Trojans fought back from a 15-0 deficit in the second quarter, scoring twice in the game on fumble returns, once thorugh the air and once on a field goal.

Austin Embody scooped up a fumble and ran it back for 47 yards for a touchdown, with teammate Zak Suave adding a 38-yard fumble return for a touchdown. The Trojans also scored on a 36-yard pass from senior quarterback to junior Alphonse Wade and a 18-yard field goal by Aaron McMahon.
