A huge thank you to Councilmember Virginia Haugen from the southeast Auburn residents. We need to keep you on the City Council.

We have lived for the last year with a burned out and boarded up house on the corner of 33rd and R Street. Nothing was happening until we made her aware of the problem. It now appears efforts are under way to clean up the site. Such properties can be an attraction for vagrants and drugs leading to crime.

We are a small community of single-family homes with many residents living in the neighborhood for 30 to 40 years. We do not want to see our neighborhood deteriorate when the homes are purchased by property speculating realtors who do not maintain them.

Thank you, Virginia, from all of us … 33rd Street to 37th who have had to look at the mess every day.
