Seattle Christian High School’s Keaton Kerr and Hannah Soltis, both of Auburn, and Madison Sitterley of Burien have been named Commended Students in the 2014 National Merit Scholarship (NMSC) Program.
Principal Matt Althoff, who made the announcement today, will present the seniors with a letter of commendation from the school and NMSC.
About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2014 competition for National Merit awards, Commended Students placed among the top-five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2014 competition by taking the 2012 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
Sitterley also was selected as a 2013-14 National Hispanic Recognition Program (NHRP) Scholar. The award comes from a strong PSAT score and possessing a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
All three seniors are narrowing their college choices.
