Auburn Police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between Feb. 2 and 6:
Feb. 2
Theft: 3:43 p.m., 700 block of A Street Northeast. Somebody plucked a vehicle battery from the back of a pickup truck and made off with said.
Theft: Overnight, 1700 block of Riverview Drive Northeast. Somebody stole a boat motor from its rightful owner.
CPS referral: 5:28 p.m., 1400 block of 17th Street SE. Police turned a kid over to Child Protective Services until his mother could be found.
Feb. 3
Controlled substance: 8:54 a.m., 2117 Auburn Way S. A man wanted on a Puyallup warrant was found asleep in the bathroom at Muckleshoot Bingo, snuggled up to drug paraphernalia and his identification.
Burglary: 8 a.m., 2002 West Valley Highway N. Somebody stole a real estate key box from a vacant building and left the front roll-up door ajar.
Trespassing: 4:54 p.m., 1102 Auburn Way S. Several unwanted boys were contacted inside the Auburn Library and told to book.
Theft: 10:50 a.m., 13013 SE 309th Place. Somebody swiped a laptop computer from a room at Green River College and scuttled away with it.
Feb. 4
Trespassing: 9 a.m., 2455 F St. SE. Police found three squatters in an empty apartment.
Theft: 4 p.m., 801 Auburn Way N. Two unknown men with “an elaborate story,” undisclosed, fleeced an Auburn resident of a large sum of money.
Trespassing: 1 p.m., 401 W. Main St. Two former students have been charged with trespassing inside West Auburn High School.
Threw the book at him: 12:27 p.m., 1102 Auburn Way S. Police busted a kid for trespassing at the Auburn Library.
Trespassing: 2:17 p.m., 253 E. Main. St. Buddy’s threw a man out for being antithetical to such peace and harmony as could be had among the couches and tables and beds and stuff.
Feb. 5
Robbery with firearm: 5:34 p.m., 210 W. Main St. Two men robbed a gas station with handguns.
Feb. 6
Don’t go there! 8:18 a.m., 2117 Auburn Way S. Late morning, Muckleshoot Bingo Hall, man kicked out, enough said.
Theft: Overnight, 900 block of 67th Street Southeast. Somebody broke into a vehicle and stole a laptop computer.
Mailbox piñata: 2:30 a.m., 900 block of 23rd Place Southeast. Somebody with bad intent inflicted $700 in damage upon some community mailboxes, striking them with a vehicle and bending them almost to the earth to get at the mail inside.
