From Aug. 3 to Sept. 4, M Street Northeast will be closed from 4th Street Northeast to 6th Street Northeast to replace aged sewer main and other utilities.

This is the first phase of the M Street NE/Harvey Road and 8th Street NE improvements project which includes widening M Street NE to four lanes between 4th Street NE and 8th Street NE, utility replacements, and the addition of a second eastbound lane to 8th Street NE at the M Street NE/Harvey Road intersection.

Access for residents and businesses within the project area will be maintained, but delays should be expected. All through traffic will be required to use posted detour routes.
