The Auburn Mountainview girls soccer team stayed alive in the West Central District III/Southwest District 4 3A playoffs with a 3-0 win over North Thurston on Thursday at Harry E. Lang Stadium in Lakewood.
The Lions (11-5-1) got two goals from Kellcy Emory and a third from Josette Lake to send the Rams (10-7-0) packing in the loser-out contest. Lake, Kelly Brudvik and Chloe Baquian all had assists and Rachel Fieser earned the shutout.
The Lions earned the No. 3 seed out of district to the state 3A tournament, with a loser-out, winner-to-state game against Prairie (9-6-3) at 2 p.m. Saturday at Highline Memorial Stadium in Burien.
ALSO: Auburn Riverside fell short in its quest for a state berth, dropping a 1-0 decision to South Puget Sound League 3A rival Bonney Lake (8-5) in a loser-out contest at Sunset Chev Stadium in Sumner.
The Ravens finished the year with a 14-3-0 record, tying a program record for most wins in a regular season.
