Auburn’s CERT graduates 24 new members

The City of Auburn Emergency Management Office recently announced the addition of 24 new members to the area's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), bringing the total number of graduates in the local program to 465.

The City of Auburn Emergency Management Office recently announced the addition of 24 new members to the area’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), bringing the total number of graduates in the local program to 465.

The 24 members graduated from the area’s 25th CERT course that included 24 intensive hours of training over three days. The training culminated in a hands-on practical exercise simulating an earthquake.

Graduates of the class included: Alex Carpentier and Kalvin Carpentier of Algona; John Calnan, Terri Calnan, Sergey Chaban, Lisa Cullum, Kimberly Cushing, Tyler Cushing, Sheila Cutler, Jennifer Finch, Michael Finch, Scott Hulet, Christine Lang, Victor Page, Danny Phillips and Kristin Wells of Auburn; Bernard Bailie, Rita Bailie, Donna Bridgeman, and John Nitardy of Des Moines; Ray Beaudoin of Enumclaw; Zarina Romanets of Kent; Jeff Berrens of Puyallup; and Robert Davis of Seattle.

The next CERT class is scheduled to begin Oct. 9, running for six consecutive Tuesday evenings from 6:30-9:30 p.m., plus two Saturday mornings.
