The Auburn Riverside Ravens volleyball team improved their league record to a perfect 2-0 with their second victory of the week over Thomas Jefferson this past Thursday.
The Ravens (4-2 overall, 2-0 league) swept the Raiders (4-2, 1-2) 3-0, with scores of 25-14, 25-18 and 25-21.
University of Montana-bound senior Brooke Bray had 16 kills and four aces. Junior Brooklyn Bradbury added 20 assists and seven kills and senior Jane Han had eight digs.
Jefferson was led by: Katelyn Nugent with 12 kills, six blocks and 2 assists; Allie Crow with 24 assists, eight digs and a block; and Kendra Ansotigue with nine kills, seven digs and an assist.
Earlier in the week the Ravens defeated SPSL North foe Kent-Meridian (1-5, 1-2) 3-0, with scores of 25-23, 25-20 and 25-14.
Bray had 20 kills, 11 digs and six blocks. Bradbury added 23 assists and Han had 15 digs. Maureen Sachs contributed eight kills.
For the Royals, Kayla Ierlan had 12 kills and five blocks and Morgan DeCarteret had 47 assists. The Ravens will host Federal Way (2-6, 0-3) at 7:15 p.m. this Wednesday at Auburn Riverside High School.
ALSO: The Trojan volleyball team improved to 4-1 overall, 2-0 in league with a 3-0 win over Kentlake on Thursday. Auburn beat the Falcons 25-11, 25-21 and 25-15, with Isia Johnson scoring 14 kills and five aces and Sierra Atkinson adding 23 assists. Dani Brunelle had 23 digs and Heather Restrepo contributed six kills and three blocks. The Trojans will host Kent-Meridian at 7:15 p.m. this Wednesday, Oct. 7. … Auburn Mountainview continued to maul opponents in the South Puget Sound League 3A division with a 3-2 victory – with scores of 23-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-13 and 15-13 – over Enumclaw this past Wednesday. Sam Odren had 41 assists in the game and junior Alex Odren contributed 25 digs. Senior Tricia Patton had 16 kills to go with her 15 digs and senior Alexi Morton had 17 kills and six blocks. The win improved the Lions record to 2-0 in league play and 8-0 overall. Auburn Montainview will travel to Franklin Pierce at 7:15 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 6.
