With sub-district tournaments getting under way Feb. 5, several Auburn and Auburn Mountainview wrestlers will head into the postseason on top of the Washington state rankings, according to washingtonwrestlingreport.com.
For the Trojans, who are currently ranked fourth in the 4A team rankings, 171-pound Dylan Rutledge remains the No. 1 wrestler in his class, as does 285-pound Nick Conlan.
Senior Kelly Maughan maintained the No. 3 ranking at 130 and senior Chris Young is fourth in the 215-pound class.
The Auburn Mountainview squad is currently third in the 3A, with their girls squad holding down the No. 6 spot.
T.J. Peretti and Drew Dacey were ranked No. 1 at 130 and 125, respectively.
Tyler King was ranked second at 152 and teammate Tyke Reid was third at 103 pounds.
In the girls rankings, Lilia Gudzyuk was No. 3 at 160 pounds.
The Auburn and Auburn Mountainview wrestling squads were victorious on Wednesday in dual matches, with Auburn squeaking by Decatur 39-33, and the Lions beating Lakes 50-25.
The South Puget Sound League North 4A sub-regional tournament will be conducted Feb. 5-6 at Kent-Meridian High School, with the SPSL 3A Feb. 5-6 at Auburn Mountainview High School.
