Auburn Police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between July 12 and 16:

July 12

Break-in attempt: Overnight, 301 30th St. NE. A person or persons unknown tried to pry open a business’ rear door but failed.

Animal problem: 10:32 a.m., 2200 block of I Street Northeast. Auburn’s animal control officer impounded an injured cat that had been hanging about an area for more than two months.

Vandalism: 3:55 p.m., 100 block of 12th Street Southeast. In the latest installment in a drama of ongoing harassment, a woman complained that her neighbor had vandalized her fence.

July 13

Theft from building: 7:30 a.m., 1101 Outlet Collection Way SW: Somebody broke into two gym lockers and stole things while their owners were working out.

Disorderly conduct: 5 p.m., 2802 Auburn Way S. A man defecated on the side of the Muckleshoot Market, so police arrested him for disorderly conduct and kicked him out.

Credit card and ATM fraud: 7:45 p.m., 1620 Perimeter Road SW. A man placed his personal belongings inside a locker at the YMCA, locked it and went to work out. Two hours later, while the man was still at the YMCA, his bank contacted him about possible fraudulent transactions on his account. He returned to his locker, discovered the lock was missing as were his wallet and car keys, and the bank cancelled the accounts.

July 16

Assault with a knife: 1:19 a.m., 1221 30th St. SE. Police arrested a man for assaulting his roommate and threatening him with a knife.

Vandalism: 5:58 a.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. Four hours after the above, a man with undisclosed issues vandalized a bathroom pipe, flooding the northwest corner of the Muckleshoot Casino, so police busted him.

Trespassing: 8:16 p.m., 340 15th St. NE. Later, as the 16th of July was drawing to a close, at the crosstown Jack in the Box, Jack told a misbehaving woman to hit the road, don’t cha come back no more.
