SR 18 closure extended, now Tuesday and Wednesday

Drivers relying on State Route 18 between Federal Way and Auburn should plan for an additional night of closures. Work on the future SR 167 Bridge will extend through today and Wednesday.

Drivers relying on State Route 18 between Federal Way and Auburn should plan for an additional night of closures. Work on the future SR 167 Bridge will extend through today and Wednesday.

Crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will close all westbound lanes and reduce eastbound to one lane on SR 18 at State Route 167 as part of the SR 167 8th to 277th Southbound HOT Lane project.

Closure information

• Tuesday, Oct. 27 to the morning of Thursday, Oct. 29 – Westbound SR 18 will be fully closed at SR 167 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly.

• Tuesday, Oct. 27 to the morning Thursday, Oct. 29 – Eastbound SR 18 will be reduced to one lane at SR 167 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly.

• Tuesday, Oct. 27 to the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 28 – The westbound SR 18 ramp to southbound SR 167 will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

• Wednesday, Oct. 28 to the morning of Thursday, Oct. 29 – The westbound SR 18 ramp to southbound SR 167 will be open but subject to rolling slowdowns.

• Detours will be in place, but drivers should still plan extra time for travel and use alternate routes on Interstate 5, Interstate 405, and Interstate 90, if possible.
