I wish to praise the work of the City of Auburn workers who have been working tirelessly to keep our streets passable.

The amount of snowfall we have received is far beyond what is normally expected. But Auburn really has done well with the resources they have.

Auburn has quite a variety of terrain, from the flat valley floor to major hills to the west, east and south.

Living in the Lakeland Hills neighborhood, we have some pretty significant hills, but I have never been unable to get up or down.

We have seen these people working late at night and early morning, and I don’t want their efforts to be overlooked.

I also praise any city staff that has fielded phone calls from residents who are upset over their missed garbage and recycling collection. Don’t call City Hall to complain. Waste Management made the decision to cancel pickups, and I support their decision.

I wouldn’t want these people to be injured in the slippery conditions we have had.
