Police blotter | May 29

Auburn police responded to the following calls for service between May 22 and May 26:

May 22

Theft: 11:29 p.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. Police arrested a male employee of the Muckleshoot Casino for internal theft.

May 24

Disorderly Conduct: 6:39 p.m., 2900 block of A Street SE. Police arrested somebody at the Auburn Regional Medical Center after that person, gender not given, assaulted an ambulance driver and made noise that unreasonably raised a ruckus and disturbed the peace within the hospital.

May 25

Burglary: 8 a.m., 10526 Auburn Black Diamond Road SE. Sometime over the weekend somebody entered a locked storage container owned by Continental Dirt and took two 5-gallon gas cans full of gas.

Controlled substance: 2:40 p.m., 1400 block of 8th Street Northeast. A man decided not only to smoke some weed but to call police to report a burglary to his apartment. Police took the burglary report all right, then arrested the guy for possession of marijuana and possession of equipment with which to smoke said marijuana.

May 26

Burglary: 1 a.m., 501 Oravetz Road SE. Burglars snuck into Auburn Riverside High School in the dead of night and swiped a computer.

Shoplifting: 2:05 p.m., 1101 Supermal Way SW. A man stole $173 worth of goods from Burlington Coat Factory, and when employees confronted him, the man said the clothes belonged to him. He tried to flee but police arrested him, whereupon he concocted several different stories as to how and why he stole the merchandise and provided a false name. Police found the man’s Washington State Department of Corrections card in his sock, confirming his true identity.

Theft from building: 2:35 p.m., 5400 block of South 319th Street. A woman told police that somebody she knew stole a $4,000 engagement and wedding ring set and $58 from her home.

Purse theft: 7 p.m., 3030 R St. SE. Somebody stole an unattended purse at Game Farm Park. Police did not disclose a value.

Bike theft: 8:46 p.m., 721 M. St. NE. A man reported that somebody stole his bike while he was working at Papa Murphy’s Pizza.
