Auburn police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between Feb. 24 and March 1:
Feb. 24
Theft: 8 a.m., 1102 Auburn Way S. Somebody swiped a laptop computer from the Auburn Library between Feb. 22 and Feb. 24. Police did not disclose the value of the computer.
Theft from building: Noon, 1000 block of 22nd Street Northeast. Somebody stole a Javelin Odyssey parachute from a garage between mid-October 2009 and February.
Feb. 25
Marijuana: 8:16 a.m., 800 4th St. NE. Auburn High School authorities suspended a student from school, and police charged him with possession of marijuana.
Obstructing justice: 6:27 p.m., 1600 block of 33rd Street Southeast. Police arrested a man and a woman for obstructing a police officer when they hid out underneath the floor boards of a home during a domestic violence investigation. The man also had a felony warrant from an outside agency, and the woman’s name was written on a misdemeanor warrant from an outside agency.
Feb. 27
Vandalism: Midnight, 200 block of East Main Street. An Auburn resident reported that somebody broke the rear windshield out of a company van while it was parked in the Safeway parking lot.
March 1
Burglary: 9:33 a.m., 20 49th Street Northeast. Unknown persons defeated a hasp on a storage shed at Kentview Elementary and stole tools to maintain the baseball fields. Police did not disclose a value for the missing items.
Vandalism: 12:43 p.m., 220 block of 21st Place Southeast. A female told police that some unknown persons deflated all four tires on her vehicle.
Traffic offense: 4:06 p.m., 2800 block of R Street Southeast. A male was driving recklessly, collided with a UPS van and then a fence in the yard of a residence. The male ran form the scene but was apprehended a couple of blocks away. He was booked into jail for hit and run and reckless driving.
Theft from vehicle: 5:20 p.m., 800 block of 10th Street Northeast. A woman reported the theft of her stereo and speakers from her car.
