I would like to commend the City of Auburn and its staff who maintain our streets during this serious weather we are having.

I am proud they took the initiative to put down de-icer on our streets to make them safe for the citizens to commute to work and shop in town.

In my travels, I have gone to some other surrounding cities and find their efforts were good but not as complete as Auburn has accomplished.

I know some feel the chemicals should not be put on the streets, but my guess, is they have never slid through an intersection or off the road on solid ice.

Thank you to all the street maintenance folks for their tireless efforts and protecting all the citizens of Auburn.
