Dick Scobee, Pioneer and Terminal Park elementary schools, as well as high school and middle school service clubs, will collect items for the community-wide clothing drive, Clothes 4 Kids, during April 26-30.
Leadership Institute of South Puget Sound Team 2 is sponsoring the drive.
Students, families and staff members are encouraged to donate clean and gently used clothing and shoes and new socks and underwear to benefit students with need (ages 5-12) in the Auburn School District. Donations from size 4 to adult medium are preferred.
Kelly Jensen, Auburn Riverside High School family and consumer sciences teacher and member of the Leadership Institute South Puget Sound Team 2, is helping to organize the massive donation event.
The Auburn Riverside Key Club will be picking up items at designated drop-off locations and schoolhouses and taking them to the sorting location for distribution.
Drop-off locations will be accepting items April 5-30 and are located at:
• VRFA Fire Station 31 (North Auburn), Station 33 (Lakeland), Station 34 (Lea Hill)
• Auburn Parks & Recreation Office
• Auburn City Hall
• Auburn School District Transportation Office (near Super Mall)
All clothing items will be donated to school district schools. These items will ensure students can return to the classroom more quickly and with confidence.
