May 5

Vehicle fire: 6:10 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Having hustled to a vehicle fire, firefighters found a vehicle with an overheated engine.

May 6

Dumpster fire: 11:57 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters quickly beat down the flames of a Dumpster fire in the parking lot of an apartment complex in south Auburn, thereby preventing damage to surrounding parked vehicles. A police unit that had been patrolling the area earlier first alerted the VRFA to the fire. The fire’s cause is as yet undetermined.

May 7

Aid call: 10:03 a.m., (Pacific). After firefighters evaluated a female patient who had fallen, possibly fracturing her ankle, a private ambulance motored her away to an area hospital.

May 8

Aid call: 1:17 p.m., (Lea Hill). After firefighters and King County Medics evaluated and stabilized a possible stroke victim with additional cardiac symptoms, a private ambulance transported the person to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

Aid call: 12:28 p.m., (Auburn). After firefighters treated a young woman experiencing general weakness, a private ambulance transported her to a local hospital for more evaluation and treatment.

Aid call: 7:59 a.m., (Algona). Firefighters helped an elderly diabetic whose family members said she had a decreased level of consciousness. A private ambulance then transported the woman to MAMC for more evaluation and treatment.

May 12

Service call: 5 a.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters dispatched to a broken water main found a broken pipe in a valve box. When employees of the City of Bonney Lake Water Department arrived on scene they closed the water valve in the street to effect repairs.
