The Northern Pacific’s Dave Sprau will give a short presentation on the life and times of Linda Braden Sprau, who worked throughout the Pacific Northwest – from telegraph operator to dispatcher, train master and intermodal manager. She recently retired after 42 years in railroading.
The discussion is a part of an open house 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 6 at the White River Valley Museum, 918 H St. SE, Auburn. A slideshow and lecture follows at 7:30 p.m. at the Auburn Senior Activity Center, across from the museum.
Martin Burwash, author of “Cascade Crossings” and the “Rambling West”, also reads from his recent work, “Vis Major: Rail-road Men, an Act of God”. Martin’s historical novel describes the overwhelming avalanche on the Great Northern Railway at Wellington on March 1, 1910.
Admission is $5 adults, $4 for kids and seniors. It is free to museum members. No registration is required.
