The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 220 calls for service between June 16 and 22, among them the following:

June 16

Sludge bin fire: 3:30 p.m., (Auburn). When firefighters responded to the 600 block of A Street Southeast for an unknown type of fire, they found ablaze an old train car that its owners had converted into a dump tank. After workers on-site verified the contents were truly fuel sludge, firefighters attacked the fire with foam, thereby containing it to the unit without loss or property damage.

June 17

Aid call: 12:15 a.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters evaluated a possible overdose, and a private ambulance transported the person to a local hospital.

June 18

Fire: 4:36 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a large column of smoke in the woods near the Muckleshoot Bingo Hall found an unoccupied homeless camp wreathed in flames, which they quickly extinguished. Fire investigators are looking into the incident.

June 19

Aid call: 5 p.m., (Lea Hill). After firefighters treated a girl who had suffered a head injury following a seizure, a private ambulance transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

June 20

Aid call: 4:51 p.m., (Algona). After firefighters evaluated a woman suffering from shortness of breath and chest pain, a private ambulance transported her to MAMC.

June 21

Aid call: 3:37 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). After firefighters helped an elderly woman in the throes of seizures, a private ambulance transported her to Good Samaritan Hospital.

June 22

Aid call: 4:44 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters summoned to help a woman suffering from a headache evaluated her and arranged for a private ambulance to transport her to a local hospital.
