Fire & rescue blotter | Oct. 23

The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 170 calls for service between Oct. 12 and Oct. 18, among them the following:

Oct. 12

Aid call: 11:38 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters and King County Medics treated a person, gender not given, for respiratory distress, and American Medical Response transported him or her to St. Francis Hospital for follow-up care.

Oct. 13

Aid call: 4:15 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters treated for minor injuries two individuals, genders not given, who had been involved in an altercation at Green River Community College. A VRFA aid unit transported one of the persons to Auburn Regional Medical Center.

Oct. 14

Automatic fire alarm: 6 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to an apartment complex in the 12700 block of Southeast 312th Street smelled smoke coming from one of the apartments. After determining that the occupant, gender not given, had accidentally left food on the stove, firefighters aired out the apartment and reset the fire alarm system.

Oct. 15

Motor vehicle accident: 11:56 p.m., (Auburn). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to a rollover accident on Auburn Way South. Engine 32 arrived to find a single person, gender not given, who may have been ejected from a one-car rollover accident. After treatment by firefighters and an evaluation by King County Medic One, a VRFA aid unit transported him or her to ARMC.

Oct. 16

Aid call: 1:46 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters examined an elderly woman who had fallen. The patient had minor injuries to her hands and face, but elected to return home with family members.

Oct. 17

Aid call: 10:42 a.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters evaluated an infant who had been reported choking and determined that the child could stay home with his or her parents.

Oct. 18

Car versus bicycle: 1:45 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters examined and treated a patient, gender not given, for an ankle fracture and abrasions related to a vehicle-versus-bike accident. Firefighters transported him or her to ARMC.
