Junior goalkeeper Jessica McAllister was again a stone wall between the pipes on Wednesday as the Lions won their fourth straight South Puget Sound League 3A contest against Peninsula 1-0.
Sara Jennings had the team’s lone goal at the 77-minute mark.
The win is the Lions’ and McAllister’s eighth shutout of the season.
The team has outscored it’s opponents 19-6 through 10 games and is currently 8-2-0 overall.
The Lions will travel to Decatur (2-1-1 SPSL 3A, 5-3-1 overall) at 7 p.m. Tuesday for a league showdown.
ELSEWHERE: The Mount Rainier girls (5-4-1 SPSL North 4A) proved too much for Auburn (2-7-0) on Thursday defeating the Trojans 4-2 at Auburn Memorial Stadium. Linda Karout had two goals for Auburn with assists courtesy of Becci Galati and Sadie Phonpadith. The Trojans will host Auburn Riverside at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday… Megan Amis and Kayla Clarke both had a pair of goals in the Raven’s (3-7-0) 8-0 shellacking of Kent-Meridian (0-10) at Auburn Riverside Thursday. Ashley Enlow, Maddie Hunt, Katie Baber, Lauren Johnson and Emmi Seelbach all added a goal apiece. Enlow added two assists and Katie Chambers Danielle Robinson and Carly Morgan all had one assist each. Brooke Benedict earned the shutout in goal.
