The yellow umbrella is back in downtown Auburn.

Lisa Harmon’s hot dog stand – one of the first of its kind in Auburn history – is operating on Main Street.

Harmon officially opened her Girl Dog, Inc., a year ago, and the City welcomed her back for a second season. Harmon will celebrate her anniversary with customers and supporters on May 10.

The stand is open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday-Friday at the corner of B Street Northeast and Main Street. The official address is 137 Main St.

On foul weather days, her indoor kitchen can be found at 222 E. Main St., Suite B.

Harmon’s menu includes a variety of hot dogs, brats, chips, familiar and unusual soft drinks. She serve cream cheese dogs.

She works weekend fairs and festivals, exclusively in Auburn, including the city’s International Farmers Market, set to open in June.

Harmon wanted to go into business for herself after getting laid off from her job as a receptionist.

“I decided the best defense against layoffs in the future is to work for myself,” Harmon said.

Merchants have welcomed her.

“The Rottles have been very supportive, and I just want to thank them,” Harmon said.
