Centex will be hosting a free home-buying seminar in Auburn designed to help potential homeowners understand and navigate the process of buying a new home in today’s market.

The “Ask-A-Centexpert” event will be held at Centex’s community, Trail Run Townhomes on March 14 from 11 a.m. to noon. Townhomes is located at 1220 51st Place NE, No. 105, Auburn.

Representatives from Centex Homes and CTX Mortgage will debunk the most common home-buying myths and address key questions potential homebuyers have top-of-mind today. Some of those questions include:

• How can I make the new $8,000 federal tax credit work for me?

• If I don’t have a down payment, what are my options?

• What will my monthly payment be?

• What does my credit score mean for a mortgage rate?

“The process of buying a home in today’s market can be confusing, particularly for a first-time buyer,” said Marilyn Gardner, director of sales and marketing for Centex’s Portland and Seattle divisions. “The goal of the seminar is to help people who come with questions leave with answers on topics such as the federal housing tax credit, down payment, credit requirements and mortgage programs.”
