Miss Auburn Oustanding Teen Amanda Enz to compete for state crown

Miss Auburn Oustanding Teen Amanda Enz will be among 25 of the state's most talented, bright and beautiful young women to compete in the Miss Washington's Outstanding Teen (MWOTeen) competition, the "little sister" to Miss Washington and Miss America.

Miss Auburn Oustanding Teen Amanda Enz will be among 25 of the state’s most talented, bright and beautiful young women to compete in the Miss Washington’s Outstanding Teen (MWOTeen) competition, the “little sister” to Miss Washington and Miss America.

The competition is May 25-26 at the Highline Performing Arts Center in Burien.

A mix of honor students, debate champions, singers, dancers, cheerleaders, athletes, musicians and writers will compete for the coveted title and more than $100,000 in prizes and scholarship assistance.

Promoting scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement for Washington’s teens, the MWOTeen contestants will be judged on personal interview, talent, evening wear and on-stage question, academic achievement and lifestyle and fitness in active wear.

Enz, an eighth-grader at Rainier Middle School, is the coordinator for Cancer – “Dance for a Cure”, a fundraiser event to raise awareness and funds in support of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. She is promoting the cause as a platform issue in honor of her uncle who is fighting the disease.

Enz has 11 years of dance experience and will be performing a sassy jazz dance to “Cha Cha Heels” for the talent portion of the MWOTeen competition.

Preliminaries are 7 p.m. May 25, the finals at 7 p.m. My 26.
