The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 177 calls for service between April 19 and April 25, the following among them:
April 19
Aid call: 8:15 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters helped an old man complaining of knee pain after a fall. A private ambulance transported the man to Auburn Regional Medical Center.
April 20
Aid call: 11:31 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters were asked to help a woman whose dog had bitten her while she was helping the animal after a car struck it. The woman sustained puncture wounds to her face and lost two teeth. A private ambulance transported her to ARMC. Firefighters and Algona and Auburn police packaged the dog and transported it to a veterinarian in Auburn.
April 21
Chemical spill: 1:31 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters responded to a spill of an unknown chemical at an apartment complex in the 30800 block of 124th Avenue Southeast. Firefighters treated three patients for minor injuries and remained at the scene. Firefighters kept the chemicals away from any structures, then police removed said chemical from the scene.
April 22
Aid call: 7 a.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters responding to a report of a sick baby girl met up with the mother who was concerned that she was not eating enough and was hard to wake up. After examining the infant and talking with the mother, firefighters determined that the mother could take her to her pediatrician.
April 23
Motorcycle accident: 8:34 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a motorcycle accident found one man with a fractured femur. Firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics stabilized the man, and Medic One transported him to Harborview Medical Center.
April 24
Vehicle fire: 5:20 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding with Washington State Patrol to a vehicle fire on eastbound SR 18 just west of C Street Southwest found the vehicle fully involved and quickly knocked down the blaze before overhauling the vehicle. No one was hurt.
April 25
Aid call: (Algona) On Sunday, April 25th at 5:36 p.m., firefighters and King County Medics helped a patient with chest pain, then Medic 6 transported the person to ARMC.
