Auburn police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between Feb. 28 and March 3:

Feb. 28

Theft from vehicle: 8:17 a.m., 32115 105th Place Southeast. Somebody stole property from a woman’s vehicle, damaging her window in the process.

Misdemeanor: Overnight, 625 C St. SW. Somebody broke a window at the Longhorn Bar-B-Q overnight. Police did not disclose a value for the damage.

Collision: 10:27 a.m., 27 15th St. NE. A vehicle struck an ATM pay station at the AM/PM gas station. Police did not disclose a price tag for the damage.

Con artist at work: 12:24 p.m., 11200 block of Southeast 299th Place. Somebody took advantage of a woman who was trying to secure a student loan, swindling her out of several hundred dollars.

Damage to motor vehicle: 5:39 p.m., 101 Auburn Way S. A man was shopping in Safeway when somebody broke into his car in the parking lot and swiped his Glock model 19 pistol.

Vandalism: 8:18 p.m., 200 15th St. NW. Somebody threw an undisclosed something from a vehicle, striking a second vehicle and shattering its windshield. The victim pulled over but the hurler drove on.

Feb. 29

Vandalism: 1:55 a.m., 30600 block of 54th Avenue South. Capping an argument over child custody, a man’s ex-girlfriend broke a window at his house and fled into the early morning darkness.

CPS referral: 8:15 a.m. A child reported to his teacher that his cousin had touched his private parts. Both kids are younger than 10 years of age.

Traffic offense: 11:37 a.m., 1800 A St. SE. Arresting a man for driving with a suspended license, police also found him compelling for the sheer number of warrants with his name attached to them, that is, criminal conspiracy, theft, forgery, criminal conspiracy and second-degree attempted theft, another count of criminal conspiracy and another of attempted theft, criminal conspiracy and third-degree attempted theft, forgery, and third-degree theft.

Burglary: 3 a.m., 0 block of 16th Street Northeast. Several vehicles were broken into a secured storage yard. Police didn’t say if anything was actually missing.

Shoplifting: 4:32 p.m., 1201 Auburn Way N. Somebody swiped two cordless telephones from Radio Shack. Police did not disclose a value for the missing phones.

Burglary: Overnight, 4329 A St. SE. Burglars burgled three air conditioner units from the secured, fenced-in area of a commercial building.

March 1

Marijuana: 9:13 a.m., 600 4th St. SE. After stopping a man and arresting him on a drug warrant, police discovered pot in his backpack then booked him into the SCORE Jail for having the stuff.

Burglary: Overnight, 220 15th St. NE. Somebody shattered the north end Dairy Queen’s front glass door and stole a change-containing donation bin. Police did not slap a value on the loss.

March 2

Disorderly conduct: 4:57 p.m., 800 block of 37th Street Northeast. After contacting three adults for fighting in public, police discovered that one of the pugilists, who’d skedaddled before their arrival, had earned himself a dishonored spot on Washington’s Most Wanted list. What for? Police didn’t say.

March 3

Theft: Noon, 11000 block of Southeast 320th Street. A man ended up the victim of some sort of theft, involving a wood chipper.

Shoplifting: 5:21 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way SW. Two kids encumbered by stolen shoes fled from an undisclosed store at the SuperMall. Auburn police soon put an end to their headlong flight from justice, and that store got its shoes back.
